I have owned them, quite powerfull studio speakers... however, thats what they will allways be, near field monitors... they are meant to give you the best possible sound in your studio... and definately not to entertain other people...

Espescially when combined with the subwoofer they have a very very flat and neutral soundspectrum.. i liked them better then my current Yamaha HS8, but only by a very small margin...

Thats how i used them, you will not regret it...

But as allways, try before you buy, there is allways something called personal preference when it comes to sound.

I have the KRK ROKIT5 Monitors and very satisfied with the quality of the sound as a near field source when recording and editing.

Thanks for the feedback. I believe that these Rokit 10 G3 speakers
will give me total satisfaction. Love the 3 way configuration and the separate amps for all 3 speakers. Bachus stated "You won't regret it" and that says it all for me. Lloyd

I just got rid of mine. I was using them for digital piano VSTs. I used them with the 10S subwoofer. I found the midrange a bit muddy. I couldn't get satisfied with the sound. The subwoofer was just used sparingly for piano sound.

I ended up getting a pair of "used" Yamaha HS8's on Ebay that came new factory sealed. I got them for just $433 for a pair. They sound just fantastic. No subwoofer necessary - well unless you're doing House or Electronica.

The muddy midfield could be because of speaker placement, they are nearfield monitors, where speaker placement is quite important.. espescially for the mids..

The muddy sound could be the instrument itself....Not the speakers also..
